Gaze across the valley and what do you see?
Signs of your love sailing away from me-
The moon is rising, just like she always will
Spilling across the water and over the hills
And I guess this means I won't be sleeping in your arms anymore
We've both walked this weary road before
I count the tired pages as they turn before my eyes
And taste the bitter pleasures of being alive
Eyes of silver, tasting of wine
You carry me off into another time
Where, like a falcon, you light upon my hand
Before you circle and soar high over the land
And I guess this means I won't be sleeping in your arms anymore
We've both walked this weary road before
I count the tired pages as they turn before my eyes
And taste the bitter pleasures of being alive
If you hold me until my shaking stops
Your mouth on mine until my weeping ceases
Then I swear I won't go to pieces
Until after you close the door-
Woman of my spirit, child of my dreams
Notice reality isn't what it seems
Fly on above me, I won't try to flag you down
As I lie, feathers fallen, sprawling on the ground
